Cocorico es un pollito que vive feliz con su madre. Un día, Mamá Gallina va a hacer un bizcocho y el pollito se ofrece a buscar leña para encender el horno. Cuando está en plena faena, aparece un gato enorme y malvado que lo quiere comer pero Cocorico consigue salvar su vida prometiéndole la mitad de la merienda. Pasado el peligro, el glotón de Cocorico olvida el trato y se come el bizcocho entero.
La mamá se enfada: “Va a venir Gato Pelado y te va a comer de un bocado!” Entonces se oye un ruido en la puerta, ¡es Gato Pelado que viene a por su mitad de bizcocho!
